Must be 1 am

I can tell even without looking at the time. Like clockwork another cluster has decided to aid in another sleepless night. The past 24 hours have been pretty bad. A day where the pain has been so bad I WANT to see a cause. Maybe an iron poker protruding out of my left eye. No such luck. Just the usually teary, bloodshot mess I have become accustomed to. Even on a 'good' day 1-3am/pm are the times feared. Knowing when an attack is in the mail can helpful. At least plans can be made around them assuming the cluster is not a small part of a longer cycle. But knowing when one is going to be in agony and not be able to do a dam thing does not make up for it.

Here is a recently published in-depth article on cluster headaches by IC Wales. Well worth the read.

"...The 54-year-old, who now runs a helpline on behalf of the charity, OUCH UK (Organisation for the Understanding of Cluster Headaches) said, "I was typical of many sufferers who have spent years misdiagnosed with migraine, sinusitis, hay fever, or are told we are exaggerating the symptoms and have a low pain threshold."

The mother-of-two from Pembrokeshire said, "In reality it is the most excruciating pain you can imagine, like having steel rods drilled into your head.
"

Sounds pleasant, doesn't it?

Medical terminology can cause confusion at the best of times. If there is a word you do not understand all you have to do is double-click on it and the definition will appear! Don't forget to drop me a line by email at versilleus@gmail.com with your comments, questions‚ recommended resources‚ concerns‚ & especially your experiences with clusters. Or come find me on my Facebook Profile to add me as a Friend. Whether you are a supporter‚ care-giver or sufferer. I would love to hear from you!

*Please do not use this information for self diagnoses. Writing about my experiences with chronic cluster headaches & epilepsy is a good outlet for me. Consult your Dr. with any kind of headache or chronic pain you may have. The 3rd party links on my site I have found to be a good resource to me over the past few years & dearly hope they will benefit you as well.*
